The Sacred Commons is a convergent church that believes in the centrality of Jesus Christ for our way of life and practice while staying tethered to the continuity and accumulated wisdom of the Body of Christ found within historic Christian worship. What’s convergence? Well, if you’re like us and believe that the walls between christian groups and denominations are rightfully becoming thin and that scandalous christian isolationism impedes the witness of the church in an already post-christian world, then maybe God has brought you here for a reason *wink wink. The Sacred Commons of Youngstown, Oh, welcomes people of every race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, age, physical and mental ability, national origin, economic station, and political ideology to full participation in the life of our community. Full participation in the life of our community includes all members, without exception, being fully eligible to participate in every sacrament, blessing, benefit and responsibility of the church.
We are a Micah 6:8 (do justice, love mercy, walk humbly) kind of people.
Our church is theologically rooted in the Apostles' & Nicene creeds.
The Sacred Commons Church is a member of the Diocese of St. Anthony .
